Make It Real, Then Make It Better

Perfectionism markets itself as high standards. Mostly it's fear with good taste — a socially acceptable reason to never let the work leave your hands and get judged.

Here's the trap: the version in your head is always better than any version you could ship, because the one in your head doesn't have to survive contact with reality. You can polish an imaginary thing forever. You learn nothing the entire time.

Real beats perfect because real generates feedback, and feedback is the only thing that actually makes work better. Make it real — well enough to put in front of someone whose reaction you trust. Then make it better with what you learn. 'Better' isn't a state you reach before launching; it's a process that only starts after.

You can't improve a thing that doesn't exist yet.

Sometimes the fastest way to 'better' is an outside read of what's actually weak — the positioning, the funnel, the offer — so you sharpen the right thing instead of polishing the wrong one. That's what an audit is for.
